VDE, headquartered in Frankfurt am Main, is one of the largest technical and scientific association in Europe. They currently have over 34,000 members, including a broad spectrum of engineers, scientists, technicians and some 5,000 students. The DKE German Commission for Electrical, Electronic & Information Technologies of DIN and VDE prepares electrotechnical standards and regulations. The VDE publishing house, based in Berlin and Offenbach,prints the Association 's technical scientific publications. In particular, these are the VDE standards and regulations series, electrotechnical books and both German-language and European technical journals.

As a neutral and independent institution the VDE Testing and Certification Institute carries out testing of electrotechnical products, components and systems and awards the VDE test mark which is recognized worldwide.

The VDI /VDE Technology Center for Information Technology supports technology companies with trend analyses, technology marketing and consultancy.

Under the Agreement with VDE, Conformity India International Private Limited renders all local support to Indian Clients for seeking VDE certifications or services. Conformity India International Private Limited also performs Pre-license and Routine Factory Inspections for VDE approvals in India and the neighboring regions. Appointments are also possible for conducting System Certification Assessments for QMS and EMS Certifications.
